Thanks Nate! Yeah, those are dream pools -- all with spectacular views to enjoy after taking a dip. The photos in this article were mostly taken with an iPhone. I've got to upgrade to a DSLR eventually.

Beautiful architectural photos as usual Stephen! As a swimmer those pools really speak to me. What a dream to do laps surrounded by such beautiful architecture, ahhh.

I went to the new San Francisco Fresh & Easy store today to see how the experience was compared to my usual Trader Joe's. Overall, I liked the groceries and prices I found and felt like it is basically a slightly "cleaner" feeling and looking Trader Joe's. The only awkward part was the self checkout which takes a lot of time if you are buying more than just a few things.

I was recently in Boston, MA and visited the Stop & Shop supermarkets there. They have technology that lets you shop with a barcode scanner and zap the barcodes as you go!

The nice thing is that when you are done shopping all the scanning is done too.
I wonder if Fresh & Easy is able to adopt this technology?

I like your analogy of bookstores to endangered animals. However, I hope it's not true, as I too find inspiration in well designed stores, books and periodicals. I think, the Stout bookstore serves its niche market well and provides an excellent customer experience.

Thanks Nate! Looking through the photos, I can't believe we covered so much ground in a week -- and we saw many more buildings than what I've posted.

Amazing photos Stephen. The quality and quantity is impressive. It feels like an online tour of fantastic architecture.
