I recently attended the Los Angeles County Museum of Art‘s survey of California modernism, titled California Design, 1930–1965: “Living in a Modern Way”. The exhibit showcases an impressive array of design objects—from furniture to ceramics, fabrics, publications, architectural drawings and vehicles, including the famed Airstream trailer and the Avanti coupe designed by Raymond Loewy. The following are some visual highlights from the exhibit, which is on display at the LACMA Resnick Pavilion until June 3.
